My name is Louise George and I am a fully qualified Psychodynamic Counsellor based in Bishop’s Stortford. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) and I abide by their ethics, standards and practices.
I recognise how difficult it can be to ask for help and how daunting it can feel to find the right therapist for you. I hope the information on this website helps, however, if you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact me.
People from all walks of life seek therapy. Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious or depressed? It might be that you are struggling to cope with a recent crisis or looking to resolve longstanding issues.
Therapy is a place where these questions and concerns can be understood in a thoughtful, appropriate and supported way. It provides an opportunity to speak to a trained professional to work through your concerns, which can often make you feel isolated and unable to share with family, friends or colleagues. Rather than feel we are compelled to experience life in familiar patterns, therapy offers understanding and choice within our lives.
Counselling isn’t about giving you solutions or advice, but empowering you to make your own changes; bringing clarity where there is confusion, resolving past issues, changing behaviours and improving relationships. Personal therapy can often be an important step in developing a more resilient and authentic self that is better able to cope with life’s inevitable challenges, bringing greater self-awareness and self-understanding.
